I'm going to go out on a limb here and say if you're reading this, you're probably spending Christmas with family or friends today.
If you aren't, I'm hoping there's someone in your life who's also reading this message, or hearing the same message elsewhere.
So much about Christmas is centred on being where we belong; being with people we love.
When we feel we belong, we have a sense of wellbeing, a sense that things are right in this world.
Christmas is also about giving.
We don't just give gifts. We give our time, we give delicious food that we prepare, we give the best part of ourselves so that others can enjoy our company (yes, the grumps do get in the way occasionally!).
After another big year, where many of us have been isolated, there's a good chance we're feeling a heightened sense for the need of belonging.
And I'd like to suggest there's someone in your world feeling this right now.
As you are reading this, can you take a moment and reflect.
Who is this person for you?
Is there a name popping into your head right now?
An old friend? A family member? A work colleague?
This Christmas, I'd like to give you a little nudge.
You being you is what someone in your world needs right now.
And if something inside you is connecting to this message, even a little bit, don't ignore it.
Take your phone. Find a quiet place. Give that someone a call.
Your simple act of giving them a call will remind them they are significant in this world.
Indulge in life.
