How Many Calories in a Cup of Tea?

by Rebecca Domorev March 04, 2020 1 min read

Good news! In a cup of tea, there are ZERO calories!

So long as you don't add any sugar or milk, your beautiful cup of tea will gain no extra calories and you can enjoy it entirely guilt-free.

Even better news, Tielka teas have a beautiful gentle sweetness, our customers often tell us they are surprised they don't need to add milk or sugar. We recommend trying our smooth and malty Tielka Breakfast Black Tea or naturally sweet Limonada Rosa Herbal Infusion.

Do you like adding milk or sugar to your cup?

If you prefer some full-cream milk, you're likely to add around 30 calories per cup of tea.

For every teaspoon of sugar you add, count an extra 16 calories.

So whether you like your tea with nothing added, or with a little milk or sugar, it's a lovely way to treat yourself without worrying about the extra calories.

You've probably noticed how your enjoyment of life takes a serious dive when you don't get enough sleep.

A couple of restless nights and your sunny self makes way for a mask of misery.

The good news is it's not you. It's the sleep.

Or lack thereof.

Sleep is one of the most underrated contributors to good mental health and the world is only just starting to wake up to this truth (excuse the pun).

It's 8:47am.

You're closing in on the start of your day and feel like you already need a break.

Conversations out loud with small people buzzing at your feet.

Conversations in your head with big people who are most certainly wrong.

You've sorted them all out. You don't feel any better for it.

You've probably noticed how your day flows better when you start with a cup of tea.

Time for yourself. A moment of clarity.

Your morning cup sets you on a good path for the rest of the day.

Combine that with a mid morning cuppa, early, late afternoon sips and an evening herbal and your day is broken into approachable chunks of time.

It's no secret that habits form the basis of success, and a day built around habitual cups of tea creates a perfect framework to organise your day.
