Fancy a special drink to add a little ping to your Saturday afternoon?
We came across this recipe for Cucumber Mint Green Iced Tea recently and just had to share it with you!
It's lovely with a bit of honey, and even the texture from the cucumber puree adds a little bit of unexpected fun.
Here's how you make it:
Ingredients:
- 2 L (8 cups) of brewed Jade Mist green tea
To brew, add 4 tbsp of Jade Mist green loose leaf tea, or 8 Jade Mist green tea bags, plus honey, to 2 L of water at 70°C or 158°F and brew for 4 minutes - 4-5 sprigs of mint leaves, finely chopped
- 1/2 large cucumber, peeled, deseeded, and pureed
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon or lime juice
- Honey, to taste (add to Jade Mist green tea while brewing to dissolve)
- Mint leaves and cucumber ribbons to garnish
Instructions:
1. Collect all the ingredients
2. Add brewed Jade Mist green tea with honey, chopped mint leaves, cucumber puree, and lime juice to 2 L jug and stir
3. Chill for several hours or overnight to allow flavours to develop
4. If preferred, pour mixture through strainer and discard cucumber puree and mint leaves
5. Serve: add a few blocks of ice to a tall glass, pour tea over ice and garnish with whole mint leaves and cucumber ribbons
6. Enjoy!
Tips:
Why not serve with a shot of gin, or vodka for a little extra pizzazz?
